About Us

Rita Tawil is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Professional Psychology. She has almost a decade of experience working with individuals with disabilities across various roles, as well as  trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, workplace stress, ex-military personnel, etc. 

Rita realised she loved helping those with their mental health when she was in high school. She recalls in her final few weeks of Year 12, her class went around and spoke of their future career goals, and she said "psychology and law". She ultimately decided to pursue the first option. When asked why she chose the psychology path, she will often say "I used to love when my friends would come to me when they weren't feeling well... I liked meeting them where they were and trying to help them grow". 

The problem is this: mental health support is hard to come by nowadays. With extra long waitlists and the financial state of many, individuals are feeling unable to prioritise their own mental wellness. 

Rita started Psych Lens because she believes that mental health support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where you are in life (or on the map). That's why we're building a practice that's affordable, flexible, and accessible!
